PASS’ADDICT, le test salivaire pour la prévention en entreprise

The saliva test SAFER WORLD MULTI+ is a comprehensive multi-drug screening tool for individual use. It detects the presence of six types of substances: amphetamines, tranquilizers (benzodiazepines), cocaine, methamphetamines, heroin (opiates) and cannabis (THC).

On the other hand, the saliva test PASS’ADDICT is specially designed for workplace risk-prevention. Simple, fast and reliable, it detects the presence of the four most commonly used families of drugs: cannabis (THC), cocaine, opiates and amphetamines.

  • A coloured band appears in the control zone (C) to validate the test.
  • A coloured band appears in the test zone (T): the test is negative.
  • No coloured band appears in the test zone (T): the test is positive.

Technical specifications

The operating principle of the test is provided for information. The test membrane has been impregnated with drug-conjugates on the specific test zone. The collection pad is pre-covered with coloured conjugates of drug-antibodies. Saliva, once collected on the pad, migrates by capillarity toward the test zone.

If there are no drug molecules in the saliva, the antibodies will form a visible precipitate in the test zone: a coloured band appears when the test is negative for the drug sought. If the molecule of the sought drug is present in the saliva, the antibodies react immediately with the drug. If the concentration in the saliva is above the detection threshold, it reacts with all the antibodies. The antibodies having already produced their effect cannot then react in the test zone. Therefore, the absence of a coloured band in the test zone indicates a positive result for the sought drug. The appearance of a coloured band in the control region serves as a procedural control: it indicates that the correct volume of saliva has been added and that the membrane has reacted properly.
